BAYVIEW PUBLIC LIBRARY

The redesign of the Bayview Public Library marks a significant milestone as my first ground-up architectural design, allowing me to shape the building from concept to completion. This project reimagines the library as a light-filled, nature-integrated community space that welcomes learning, connection, and exploration.

The design features abundant natural light and biophilic design elements. Expansive windows and a central courtyard flood the interior with daylight, reducing reliance on artificial lighting and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Greenery is included throughout the space, with integrated planters and green walls offering visitors a visual connection to nature.

The library’s functional layout prioritizes accessibility and user experience. The first floor houses checkout services, the children’s and junior sections, and inviting spaces designed for younger patrons. The second floor provides a quieter environment, featuring adult book collections, reading areas, and a dedicated computer space for research and work.

Through thoughtful spatial organization, biophilic consideration, and a focus on community needs, the Bayview Public Library Redesign transforms the traditional library into an engaging, modern environment for knowledge and reflection.
